Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is a small mountainside village approximately 35 km from Krakow and 15 km from Wadowice, along the international route E462 from Cieszyn to Krakow. This picturesque village is an important pilgrimage centre on the famous "Totus Tuus" papal railroad route. Agricultural landscape prevails with large forests, valleys and mountains. Nearby is the village of Lanckorona with its ruins of medieval locks and preserved 19th century wooden houses. In Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is the monastery of Bernardyni, a sanctuary which attracts crowds of pilgrims, but the craft and commerce belong to traditions dating back from the 17th century with numerous national and foreign clients.
